SUMMARY:American Infidels VMC Motorcycle Run & Hockey Game

This ride will leave from the Topsham\, Maine American Legion Post 202 and end at the Family Ice Rink in Falmouth\, Maine. Once at the Ice Rink\, all patrons will have access to two food trucks\, veteran nonprofit organizations\, first responder recruiting tables\, and veteran-owned businesses that you can browse\, converse\, learn and network with to help link our Maine veterans to what is available. Proceeds for this event will be given to the Travis Mills Foundation to support post-9/11 recalibrated veterans of Maine and their families. SUMMARY:8th Annual Aaron Henderson Memorial Softball Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Public\nFrom August 14th thru 16th\, 2020\, friends and family of the late Army SFC Aaron Henderson will come together in his honor to raise money for the Green Beret Foundation with a weekend softball tournament in Houlton\, ME. SFC Henderson lost his life in the fall of 2012 while serving in Afghanistan. He served with A Company\, 2nd Battalion\, 5th Special Forces Group\, Fort Campbell\, Kentucky\, and was born and raised in Houlton. \n  \nAll the money raised is donated to the Green Beret Foundation in Aaron’s honor. Double elimination 14 team co-ed tournament. The host team and last year’s winning team are in. If more than 12 teams want to participate a live drawing will be held on Facebook at 9pm on March 28th to determine who gets to play. First 12 teams picked are in the rest will be on stand by in case a team drops out. \nTeams have until noon on March 28th to submit their name! DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Public\n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT CHANGE\n\n\n\nWe at CompetitorME and Run for Cash take the health and well being of our participants\, volunteers\, spectators\, and staff very seriously.  With the current fears surrounding COVID-19\, we are working with local officials and medical professionals to best understand the impact of our events. \nThe Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) published Interim Guidance for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on March 15\, states: ” recommends that for the next 8 weeks\, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.”  At this time\, we are adhering to Federal\, State\, and Local mandates which has extended this postponement into May at the earliest.  Additionally\, we must balance what is socially responsible with gathering for this event in 2020. \nIt is with regret\, that we are cancelling the Run for Cash event originally scheduled for Saturday\,June 27\, 2020.  This event has now moved to a Virtual Event.  In an athlete-first policy\, we are offering to all registered runners\, at no additional cost\, the ability to transfer to the Virtual Participant Option.  You will still receive the same event goodies in the mail! \nFinally\, on behalf of Nancy and Bob\, plus us at CompetitorME and\, we appreciate the support of our running and endurance event communities.  These are undoubtedly trying times for us all.  We look forward to seeing you all as soon as we can! \n\n\n\n__________________________________________ \n2020 will mark the 16th annual Run for Cash Race! \nJoin us for our 2020 Race on June 27th benefiting Veterans Count Maine! Additionally a $1\,000.00 Scholarship will still be awarded each year to the OOBHS students.  Contact us at amarzen1@eastersealsme.org with any immediate questions. DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Private\nFounded in 2010 the Ruck to Remember’s mission is to empower our nation’s heroes\, coming home carrying with them the wounds of war\, while forever HONORING & REMEMBERING those heroes that sacrificed all. \nThe Ruck to Remember is an annual event that occurs over Memorial Day weekend with two events (distances) that make up our Mission to Honor and Remember what Memorial Day weekend is about. \n60 to 60 \nIs an intense\, grueling 60 mile team hike\, done with a hiking backpack / military “Ruck” sack and all your required gear (est. 30 lbs) over steep rugged terrain and down through the historic WO&D Trail of Northern Virginia as the mission continues on\, moving to the Iwo Jima War Memorial to link up with the Final Miles Team In all completing a 60 mile journey of Remembrance.  (Sign up for this portion of the event is open.) \nThe Final Miles \nIs the critical 6 mile movement\, beginning at the Iwo Jima War Memorial\, Memorial Day morning\, then down through the National War Memorials.  The teams move as a team\, in formation\, representing the strong force of our Military and camaraderie of those who have served.  The movement itself is the show of force that serves to Honor and Remember all those that sacrificed all\, as the movement moves over Memorial Bridge and into Arlington National Cemetery.
