In 2021\, The Summit Project will be honored to partner with this team for their 3rd Annual Stand By to Fly Benefit Match. This event is a Level II match that brings nationally-ranked shooters from all over the country to both participate and compete. DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Public\n2021 will mark the 17th annual Run for Cash Race! \nJoin us for the 2021 Race on June 26th benefiting Veterans Count Maine! Additionally a $1\,000.00 Scholarship will still be awarded each year to the OOBHS students. \nTeams are welcome and so are your pets and strollers.  If running isn’t right for you or your family\, we assure you the walk is a great way to participate in the memory of Captain Cash and participate in a wonderful morning of activity. \nYou can pick up packets before the race or on Friday at Old Orchard Beach High School between 11am-3pm. \n7:45AM- Kids’ fun run begins!\n6:45-8:00AM- Packet pick-up and race day registration\n8:20AM- Opening remarks and National Anthem\n8:30AM- Run for Cash begins!\n8:45AM- First runner expected\n9:45AM- Awards and closing remarks \n**No pets in the gymnasium. DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Public\nOn Sunday\, May 30th\, 2021\, The Summit Project will be partnering with Ruck to Remember to coordinate a 16-mile trek between Back Cove Park in Portland\, ME and the beautiful Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse in South Portland\, ME. This partnership represents a collaboration of two well-recognized organizations from across the country coming together in honor of our fallen service members from right here in our home state of Maine. \nWith multiple sections being escorted by both the Portland and South Portland Police Departments\, this movement will utilize the Eastern Promenade trail system\, Commercial Street\, Casco Bay Bridge\, and the Greenbelt Walkway to honor our hometown heroes on this very special weekend.  \nTribute Stones from The Summit Project will accompany many of us during this trek\, and Fort Preble will serve as the backdrop to our Stories of Valor circle testimony. As we return\, we will stop at Fort Allen Park to celebrate the lives and legacies of our fallen Maine heroes with a Warrior’s Meal and the company of a very special guest speaker. \n“We carry their stone for a trek\, we carry their story for a lifetime.” \nThose who have joined us on these treks before will understand the weight and significance of those words. This event is to dedicated to carrying on Dustin’s legacy. \nThe Cpl. Dustin Libby Memorial Challenge will be held on Sunday June 28\, 2020 starting at the Mapleton Elementary School.  We are pleased to be a part of the Mapleton Daze Festivities! \nThe Cpl. Dustin Libby Memorial Challenge features a Kids 1 Mile Fun Run\, 5K Run/Walk\, and 10K Run on farm field and tarred roads. At the families request\, all proceeds will go to the Mapleton Recreation Department. Similarly to Flags on the 48\, a program based in New Hampshire\, Climb to Remember – 14/4000′ aims to raise our American flag on ALL the summits of the Maine 14 mountains over 4000 feet in remembrance of 9/11. SUMMARY:8th Annual Aaron Henderson Memorial Softball Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Public\nFrom August 14th thru 16th\, 2020\, friends and family of the late Army SFC Aaron Henderson will come together in his honor to raise money for the Green Beret Foundation with a weekend softball tournament in Houlton\, ME. SFC Henderson lost his life in the fall of 2012 while serving in Afghanistan. He served with A Company\, 2nd Battalion\, 5th Special Forces Group\, Fort Campbell\, Kentucky\, and was born and raised in Houlton. \n  \nAll the money raised is donated to the Green Beret Foundation in Aaron’s honor. Double elimination 14 team co-ed tournament. The host team and last year’s winning team are in. If more than 12 teams want to participate a live drawing will be held on Facebook at 9pm on March 28th to determine who gets to play. First 12 teams picked are in the rest will be on stand by in case a team drops out. \nTeams have until noon on March 28th to submit their name!
