SUMMARY:Wreaths Across America Day
DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Public\nWhat does it mean to sponsor a veteran’s wreath? It means you’ll honor an American hero at one of more than 1\,400 locations nationwide this year on Wreaths Across America Day. It’s a day that’s been set aside to lay wreaths at the places where we remember\, honor and teach about our veterans. \nThe wreaths are hand-crafted of all-American balsam and hand-tied with a red velvet bow in Columbia Falls\, Maine. They will then be sent to one of our participating locations\, where a volunteer will place it on the marker of a fallen hero. That volunteer will then “say their name” to ensure that the legacy of duty\, service\, and sacrifice of that veteran is never forgotten.  Wreaths Across America Day offers us all the opportunity to join a grateful nation in saying “thank you” to our veterans. \nParticipating Maine Cemeteries where you can Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud: \n(1) On Saturday\, December 15\, 2018 at 12:00 PM\, Wreaths Across America will be at South Buxton Cemetery in Buxton\, Maine; \n(2) On Saturday\, December 15\, 2018 at 12:00 PM\, Wreaths Across America will be at Forks Cemetery in Manchester\, Maine; \n(3) On Saturday\, December 15\, 2018 at 12:00 PM\, Wreaths Across America will be at Woodland High School Veterans Memorial in Baileyville\, Maine; \n(4) On Saturday\, December 15\, 2018 at 12:00 PM\, Wreaths Across America will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Ellsworth\, Maine; and \n(5) On Saturday\, December 15\, 2018 at 12:00 PM\, Wreaths Across America will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta\, Maine. \nYou can also visit the Wreaths Across America website to sponsor a Wreath at any Cemetery or even sponsor a Cemetery if you choose. \nThis list is not comprehensive and will be updated as new locations are identified.  Please don’t hesitate to contact Joelle with any locations you would like to see added to the list above!

Travis Manion as a grassroots run in his hometown Doylestown\, PA with 300 runners\, the 9/11 Heroes Run now has more than 50 race locations\, presence in 38 different states across the country\, and unites more than 50\,000 people yearly to celebrate our heroes and spread awareness. Race proceeds are used to directly support the Travis Manion Foundation’s mission to empower our nation’s veterans and families of our fallen heroes to develop character in future generations in order to strengthen communities. In select locations\, a portion of race proceeds are granted back to a local nonprofit partner whose mission is also to empower our heroes.
