SUMMARY:17th Annual Run for Cash
DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Public\n2021 will mark the 17th annual Run for Cash Race! \nJoin us for the 2021 Race on June 26th benefiting Veterans Count Maine! Additionally a $1\,000.00 Scholarship will still be awarded each year to the OOBHS students. \nTeams are welcome and so are your pets and strollers.  If running isn’t right for you or your family\, we assure you the walk is a great way to participate in the memory of Captain Cash and participate in a wonderful morning of activity. \nYou can pick up packets before the race or on Friday at Old Orchard Beach High School between 11am-3pm. \n7:45AM- Kids’ fun run begins!\n6:45-8:00AM- Packet pick-up and race day registration\n8:20AM- Opening remarks and National Anthem\n8:30AM- Run for Cash begins!\n8:45AM- First runner expected\n9:45AM- Awards and closing remarks \n**No pets in the gymnasium. You may park at the high school for the race. \nThank you! The first 150 registered participants will receive a commemorative shirt! Top runners will be awarded a medal or prize. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:16th Annual Run for Cash - VIRTUAL ONLY
DESCRIPTION:Event Type: Public\n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT CHANGE\n\n\n\nWe at CompetitorME and Run for Cash take the health and well being of our participants\, volunteers\, spectators\, and staff very seriously.  With the current fears surrounding COVID-19\, we are working with local officials and medical professionals to best understand the impact of our events. \nThe Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) published Interim Guidance for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on March 15\, states: ” recommends that for the next 8 weeks\, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.”  At this time\, we are adhering to Federal\, State\, and Local mandates which has extended this postponement into May at the earliest.  Additionally\, we must balance what is socially responsible with gathering for this event in 2020. \nIt is with regret\, that we are cancelling the Run for Cash event originally scheduled for Saturday\,June 27\, 2020.  This event has now moved to a Virtual Event.  In an athlete-first policy\, we are offering to all registered runners\, at no additional cost\, the ability to transfer to the Virtual Participant Option.  You will still receive the same event goodies in the mail! \nFinally\, on behalf of Nancy and Bob\, plus us at CompetitorME and\, we appreciate the support of our running and endurance event communities.  These are undoubtedly trying times for us all.  We look forward to seeing you all as soon as we can! \n\n\n\n__________________________________________ \n2020 will mark the 16th annual Run for Cash Race! \nJoin us for our 2020 Race on June 27th benefiting Veterans Count Maine! Additionally a $1\,000.00 Scholarship will still be awarded each year to the OOBHS students.  Contact us at amarzen1@eastersealsme.org with any immediate questions.
