Ellsworth Elks Lodge Honor Case Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

September 11 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Event Type: Public

Please join us at a ceremony on September 11th at the Ellsworth Elks Club to honor the 2,977 men, women and children killed in the attacks at the World Trade Center site, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93.  Among those honored are the first responders who valiantly fulfilled their duties to serve and protect and ultimately lost their lives on that day.

As part of the ceremony The Summit Project Honor Case will be unveiled as it begins its two month stay at the Elks Club on display.  Within the case are the memorial stones of 22 Maine service men and women who lost their lives while serving their country.  One of whom, Navy CDR Robert A. Schlegel, died at the Pentagon during the attacks on September 11th.

We invite all of our community first responders, Gold Star families, Volunteers, Supporters and their family and friends, to join us as we remember those lost, and honor those who served.  The Summit Project honors all service men and women with ties to Maine who have died while serving this great nation since September 11th.  Come and learn more about the Organization; view the Honor Case and engage in light refreshments as we give back to those who gave all.  Questions: Contact Crystal Dow at (207) 266-2422

The public is encouraged to attend.  For a listing of stones being honored in the case visit the  Honor Case Custodian Page.
