With your help, we hope to collect stones from the family and friends of every fallen Maine hero. These stones can help, in part, tell a story of a generation of Mainers who did not come back to Maine, but whose spirit remains alive today and continues to inspire others. This connection will pass from every fallen hero, through the shared stories from their family, through every stone we collect, every peak we summit, and into the every individual who is part of this project.
Here are the stones that Maine families have given to The Summit Project. They come from all over Maine, beyond our state lines and even overseas. Each stone represents a unique story of a unique Maine hero. — As you decide which stone to carry on the trail, choose carefully, you will be forever connected to that Maine hero.
