15th annual Veterans Day Road March planned for Augusta; Walk to include wreath-laying ceremony at VA Maine HCS, Togus.
AUGUSTA — Soldiers, veterans and supporters will participate in the 15th annual Veterans Day Road March, a 7.5-mile road march, beginning at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Capitol Park, according to a press release from the American Legion. Designated soldiers and veterans will carry Summit Project stones, each representing a Maine Fallen Hero. The road march will travel to the VA Maine Healthcare System at Togus, where marchers will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony and a dedication of the Summit Project mobile display case, built by Maine veterans.
