On Friday, May 24, 2024, students from Nokomis Middle/High School will undertake a challenge course filled with 14+ obstacles in honor of U.S. Army PFC Tyler M. Springmann. 19, of Hartland, Maine; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; died July 17 in Talukan, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device while serving during Operation Enduring Freedom.
