Penquis has been chosen to stand watch over the Summit Project Honor Display Case.
It contains 18 stones representing the lives of service members from Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties.
The ceremony is to recognize and pay tribute to the fallen soldiers.
The case can be viewed anytime.
“For me and for our agency, this really represents our commitment to our veterans and to our community at large and knowing that anyone can walk through our doors and get the support and guidance and resources they need is phenomenal. My brother was actually killed in action in 2009, so this is an outward expression, a way my family can not only honor and grieve over him but celebrate his life.”
The ceremony is Monday afternoon at 3:30 at the Penquis office in Bangor.
If you’d like to attend the ribbon cutting, you can RSVP by calling Penquis at 973-3500.
