TSP at HCA 2015
Congrats to Chad Januskiewicz and his team of TSP at HCA hikers who became part of the TSP Living Memorial on Saturday, March 21st, when a small group of 13 individuals (ages 11-45) carried 11 memorial stones for The Summit Project up Borestone Mt in Elliotsville, Maine. Highview Christian Academy students, staff, parents & friends together with Ted “Gunny” Coffin snowshoe hiked to the East Peak summit. Their climb even got a little technical when they had to use a climbing rope to aid in their ascent.
Traversing 5.5 miles in total length (roundtrip distance) with an elevation gain of (1,181′) The completed the trek together and carried the tribute stones for the hike, but the stories of our fallen heroes for a lifetime.
Of the 11 stones they carried, they honored 10 individual fallen Maine heroes and also carried the DATE stone.
The DATE stone was requested in honor/memory of the schools founder and Vietnam veteran who died last year. The Date stone will be carried by the School’s Principal (and son of the founder) along with his daughter as a team together.
