The Summit Project, the Town of Newport and the Newport Cultural Center invite the citizens of Newport and surrounding communities to come together to honor and remember the fallen. Please join us for a Memorial March through Newport welcoming the stones of fallen Maine soldiers on Saturday April 16th at 10 a.m., starting at the American Legion and proceeding toward Rt 7 and down Main Street to our new Veteran’s Memorial site. From there the stones will be placed into the mobile Honor Case at the Newport Cultural Center for all to see from April 16th through the end of May. Our mission is always to ensure Maine Heroes are not Forgotten (MHANF).
The Town of Newport and the Newport Cultural Center are inviting locals and surrounding communities to join us in honoring and remembering fallen veterans in a very unique way. The Summit Project is a living memorial that ensures Maine Heroes are NOT Forgotten. Surviving families of fallen veterans have unearthed and donated a special memorial stone that uniquely represents their loved one. At the conclusion of the march a special Honor Case ceremony will take place inside the NCC with Gold Star families, those carrying stones and special guests. The Summit Project inspires service, strengthens communities and changes lives. MHANF
