US Army Specialist Austin J. Martel

SPC Austin J. Martel, 20, of Greene, Maine passed peacefully on May 30, 2018 while serving with the Fourth Infantry Division at Fort Carson, CO. Austin enlisted after graduating from Leavitt Area HS in 2015, and deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but most of all his son Henry. To honor him, his sister, Kayla, chose a heart shaped stone from his favorite fishing spot, Martins Point, in Sabbatus, ME.
